OK Motor Services, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, bought a batch of 6 Plaxton Supreme bodied Leyland Tigers in 1982 for use on private hires, tours and local service. LFT 5X was the penultimate vehicle of the batch. Unusual in being built with +earlier Plaxton Elite windscreens, Supreme V front panel and Plaxton Paramount rear (which was the bodywork style that Plaxtons were building). Passing through various operators after sale by OK, such as Smiths of Brenzett and the reincarnation of OK Motor Services, based in Cambridge, LFT 5X returned north to Shildon, County Durham, based The Eden , where it is used in a semi preserved role.

Life after being a bus.

Here we see three Plaxton Panorama bodied Leyland Leopards, all new to BMMO (later known as Midland Red).

SHA 645G, dating from 1969, BMMO fleet number 6145;
Q124 VOE, originally registewred GHA 326D, dating from 1966, BMMO 5826;
WHA 237H, dating from 1970, BMMO 6237.

Photograph taken at The Transport Museum, Wythall, Birmingham, on 5th April 2003.

WHA 237 had called in to The Transport Museum after delivering an AEC Reliance to Birmingham. SHA & Q124 were both resident at the museum. I believe that Q124 VOE has since been scrapped.
